The Lineage of the Alchemist Long before I earned an MBA or a Master’s in Forensic Psychology and the corporate titles, I was being schooled in the mysteries and holistic lifestyle. Growing up, I was deeply tethered to my Indigenous Choctaw and African roots. My Nanny and Mama Moore were my first alchemists. They transformed the simple elements of the earth: herbs, roots and rituals into profound healing. They taught me that the earth carries a rhythm and that honoring the cycle of life is the first step toward sovereignty. They also taught me that the earth always has the medicine, if you have the ears to listen. These lessons are the heartbeat of my life’s work.
The Golden Mask
The Illusion of Achievement (2003–2011) By 2003, my life appeared "Golden." I had the six-figure income, the company car, and the successful career in the beauty industry. I had all the outward markers of achievement that society tells us to chase. But beneath the surface, the lead of my spirit was yearning to become gold. My soul was preparing for an initiation I never saw coming.
The Calcination
The Fire of Purification (2012–2017)
In 2012, the fire of alchemy arrived. A car accident shattered my meticulously built world, revealing deeper fractures: a diagnosis of cervical cancer, uterine fibroids, and the unimaginable loss of my unborn child. I lost my job, my car, and eventually my home.
In my darkest hour, I heard the voice of the Divine:
“You’re not being punished. You’re being broken into place. Trust the fire; it’s purifying you.”
I spent the next five years rebuilding from the ashes. I returned to the rituals of my ancestors and the precision of the mind, earning my Master’s in Forensic Psychology while entering remission. Even a subsequent surgery to remove 14 tumors in 2017 became a teacher. I learned that the fire does not consume what is real; it only burns away what no longer serves.

Even as I navigate the recent losses of my father and my Choctaw mentor, I stand as a testament that alchemy is an ongoing process.
